For months now we have been listening to reports that Donald Trump would be one of the candidates for the presidential election next year. As it turns out, though he appeared to be absolutely serious, he has announced that he will not run. That is likely to be considered a huge positive by the Republican party. And it certainly is very positive news for the businesses that bear his name, certainly The Trump Network.

The problem with politics in this country from a business person’s perspective is that once you officially announce that you are running for any competitive position, the group aligned with the person you are running against will do everything they can think of to prevent your victory. What do you think the chances are that those against the candidate would use services or purchase products from a company that actually bears the name of that candidate? When someone is in the race for President, the media is very unkind too. If you are a Republican, half of the country is against you. Democrats can count on the other half being against them. As a business person, and certainly Mr. Trump is, you might be alienating half of your prospective market.

Trump Network marketers, Donald’s namesake network marketing company, are thanking their lucky stars that he will not be in the race. Having him all over the media actually created more interest in The Trump Network, but at the same time there were many people who might have decided not to join just because they were against his political position. They had already taken a stand on the other side and found it difficult to consider working as a partner with a person they opposed in the election. Since network marketing is a business where products and the opportunity are promoted on a daily basis by the independent marketer, each Trump Network business builder talks about Trump every day. Look at the products and the Trump brand is prominent on almost every one of them.

The company sells customized nutritionals, weight loss products, energy and relaxation drinks, and anti-aging skin care creams and lotions. It’s not as if these products could only benefit Republicans. Even though these products are a higher grade than other things offered from other sources, lots of would prefer to an inferior product rather than one that they have a feeling will benefit the candidate they are on opposite sides of in the election.

Though he is not in the Presidential race Mr. Trump can certainly be expected to impact the direction of the election and key in on specific topics. He was very forthcoming about his stand on the international business world and is sure to continue to talk to the press about his opinions now that he has built up a sizeable audience who have shown that they want to hear what he has to say. And now that he will not be constantly asked about his position on every issue of concern to potential voters he will be able to spend more time doing what he does best, promoting everything named Trump.

Those in the Trump Network saw the possibility that Donald Trump might be President as something that was both positive and negative. It would have been quite spectacular to have national conventions with the key note speaker being the President of The United States with all the security and ceremony. But, it also could have meant that he would not be attending company functions because of the cost associated with all the security to say nothing about the fact that taxpayers might object. Certainly his movements would be much more restricted than they have been in the past. And any controversy he would get involved with as President could have had direct impact on all the people who have invested their time and energy building a business as a marketer in the Trump Network.
